The blasting commonly known as sandblasting, is an industrial method for cleaning or surface preparation for subsequent painting treatment. It consists in applying a jet (sand, grit, grit) driven by high pressure air through hoses and nozzles, against the surface to be treated.
BGS undertakes Sand blasting & painting works for Storage tanks. The effect of high-pressure abrasive releases dirt, rust and / or paint residue on the treated area, generating also an anchor profile for the new paint applied. Regarding the paintings it should be noted that there are different systems including epoxies, polyurethane, zinc rich materials and glazes. Their choice depends on outdoor exposure, handling of corrosive, operating temperature of the surface, the type of material and in many cases the proximity to marine environments, among other features that define the level of protection deployed.
Areas of application: storage tanks, Structures, Pipes, Penstock, Barges, Scope: The scope of work depends on the specifications provided in each project to be implemented, taking into account the types of surface, condition and location thereof.
